Biography

Evangelos earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 2024, where he was involved in the Vanderbilt Aerospace Design Lab and the Laser Diagnostics of Combustion Lab. He is currently a PhD student in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, where his research focuses on plasma-assisted combustion for enabling ammonia as a feasible zero-carbon fuel for gas turbines by improving flame stability and reducing NOₓ emissions. He has experience with optical diagnostics, including multi-species planar laser-induced fluorescence and chemiluminescence measurements in turbulent flames. His research interests also include supersonic and pressure-gain combustion, rocket propulsion, and combustor design.
