David Wu farewell lunch

This week we want to say farewell to David Wu, a dear member of our combustion lab family.  We are saddened for David to depart our research team, but we are excited for him to take his career path to EPRI.  David's last day at the combustion lab is Friday, January 17 2025.  Today we celebrated David's contributions with a celebration lunch (photographed above).

David started working in the lab as an undergraduate in 2012 (see combustion lab 2012 photo below) and came on as a research engineer in 2014.  David has led the deployment of the lab's ammonia combustion research, has served as a vital test engineer for all of our high pressure experiments, and he has managed our undergraduate research program.  In addition to his service to our research group and our lab, David has volunteered countless "invisible" hours to mentor and assist the various campus rocket clubs and other student-focused organizations.

David has grown into a national leader in designing and operating high pressure, optically accessible combustion test facilities.  He is also a global leader in the ammonia combustion research space.  We wish David farewell and look forward to continued engagement with him in his new role.  Thank you David for all of your hard work!!
